Responsibilities may include the following:
Compiles payroll data such as hours worked; sales volume, bonuses, and commissions; monies to be withheld for taxes; employee contributions to insurance and retirement plans; etc.
, from time sheets and other records.
Post payroll journal entry in accounting software.
Updates master payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages such as federal and state tax exemptions, insurance coverage, etc.
, and data concerning compensation increases, promotions and/or transfer of employees between departments.
Computes wages and deductions, reviews for accuracy and posts to payroll records.
Prepares/files all hiring and termination paperwork including COBRA letters.
Processes all aspects of employee information from initial hire process to termination including data entry into payroll, timekeeping and benefits carrier systems to ensure accurate record keeping.
Participate in various HR workflows (such as but not limited to I-9 forms, EEO tracking, employee benefit program, workers compensation claims, unemployment forms, COBRA administration, etc) by compiling, filing and distributing appropriate electronic and physical paperwork Manages new hire on-boarding, including orientation, new hire paperwork, and initiating drug screens and background checks.
Maintains records for vacations and sick-day eligibility.
Processes all employee insurance forms and insurance payments in coordination with office manager.
Understands employee payroll issues, and communicates solutions effectively, professionally, and respectfully.
Maintains professional appearance and neat work area.
Maintain and reconcile accounting schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Assist with month close.
Handle miscellaneous clerical tasks as assigned, to include light filing.
Accounting/Position Requirements:
Basic accounting background; must know debits and credits Minimum 1 year of automotive accounting experience Exercises sound judgment and exhibits strong decision-making and problem solving skills Displays exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with particular attention to confidentiality Interacts with employees in a positive and helpful manner at all times Promotes company policies and procedures by leading by example Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team Ability to maintain strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with a diverse team Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Must have excellent multi-tasking skills Must be detailed-oriented individual Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
Must have the ability to stay focused in an extremely active/open office environment Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
